Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, has signed the 2020 appropriation bill into law. Education has the largest percentage of the budget provision, followed by infrastructure. The Governor said the 2020 budget christened ‘Budget of Growth’, passed by the State House of Assembly, provides for aggregate expenditures of N187,858,525,273.00. He said the amount is divided into N10.508 billion, representing 5.6% for Debt Servicing, N14,180 billion representing 7.6 % as Statutory Transfers to Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Ondo State Internal Revenue Service (ODIRS) and 10% share of Independent Revenue to Joint Account and Allocation Committee (JAAC) of Local Governments in the State. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has confirmed that the former senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, was arrested by its operatives in Abuja. “He is now being quizzed in our Jabi headquarters in Abuja”, PM News reveals. According to the source, Sani collected money from the chairman and CEO of ASD Motors, his namesake Sani Dauda, under the pretense of passing it as a bribe to EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu. Sani Dauda was a former chairman of Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Limited(PAN). His ASD Motors is a major car dealer in Abuja. Shehu Sani, a human rights activist, was elected senator in 2015, under the All Progressives Congress platform. Operatives of INTERPOL have arrested Edo State for Arts, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Osaze Osemwingie-Ero, for alleged money laundering. Ero was reportedly arrested in France since last month for being in possession of $2m. He was said to have being detained and queried by INTERPOL. Political opponents claimed the money was given to him by Governor Godwin Obaseki as he was accompanying the Governor to a foreign trip. Another source said the Commissioner was being questioned for an offence he committed seven years ago. A top government official, who pleaded anonymity, said the state government was aware of the questioning of Osemwingie-Ero by INTEPOL for a offence committed before he was appointed by Governor Obaseki. The remains of six people were recovered late on Friday from the wreckage of a helicopter that crashed at a mountainous state park on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. Dpa reports that a seventh passenger on the chopper, which went down while touring Kauai’s Na Pali Coast on Thursday, had not been located. Officials discovered the crash site in Kokee State Park after rescue workers searched Friday morning amid windy, wet conditions. Former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, finally reunited with his family after four years in the custody of the Department of State Services. Dasuki was first arrested on December 1, 2015, by DSS and arraigned in court by EFCC over his involvement in a $2.1bn arms procurement fraud under the administration of ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan. The Saudi Arabia Ministry of Justice has banned the marriage of persons under the age of 18. Saudi also set the minimum age for marriage at 18. According to Saudi Gazette, the Minister of Justice and Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Sheikh Dr. Walid Al-Samaani issued a circular to all courts highlighting the ban on marriage for persons under 18.
