According to Skysports, Arsenal have sacked head coach Unai Emery after the club’s worst run of results since 1992. Arsenal are without a win in their last seven matches following Thursday’s 2-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League. The Gunners have won only four of their 13 Premier League games this season and are now eighth, eight points adrift of the Champions League places. The Edo Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has said that 143 persons were killed in road safety crashes in the state due to absent-mindedness of drivers. Mr Anthony Oko, State sector commander of the corps revealed this to NAN on Thursday in Benin, at the flag-off of the 2019 Ember month campaign by the corps. Oko said that the figure which represents 37 per cent of accidents in the state, was between January and October. He said the deaths were recorded from 170 road traffic cases, which involved 351 vehicles, while 664 persons were recorded injured. He also revealed that 136 people were killed in 2018 due to the same factor, adding that the figure represented 39 per cent. Oko explained that out of 290 probable causes of crashes that year, 113 were deduced to be by drivers’ absent-mindedness. He added that the figure was from 206 total crashes that happened within that period, with 387 vehicles involved and 801 persons injured. R

Trial on the alleged N6.9 billion fraud against former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose at the Federal High Court, Lagos, was on Thursday stalled following absence of the trial judge, Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke. The judge is said to be away attending a conference. Fayose is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged money laundering involving N6.9 billion while serving as governor. Also charged alongside Fayose, was Abiodun Agbele, the ex-governor’s aide accused of assisting his boss in carting away part of the missing funds. He was first arraigned on Oct. 22, 2018, before Justice Mojisola Olatotegun alongside his company, Spotless Investment Ltd, on an 11-count charge. Police in Anambra state have discovered the dead and decomposing body of a 65-year-old medical doctor in his hospital, months after he died. The medical doctor, Dr Gilbert Afam Gini is said to be occupying two flats, which he uses to run his hospital, Santa Cruz clinic at No 9 Eze Crescent Ezinifite Okpuno, near Awka. A press statement by the Police PRO in Anambra, SP Haruna Mohammed stated that one Barr Duke Onyebuchi Ezeonwuka discovered the body on Tuesday when he visited the property which he manages and found it locked, and a strong stench emanating from it. Okpara, a resident of No. 10 Abiodun Kayode St., Araromi Bus Stop, Ojo in Lagos was arraigned on a four-count-charge bordering on conspiracy, unlawful abduction and child trafficking. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge. The Police Prosecutor, ASP Ezekiel Ayorinde alleged that the defendant stole the four-month-old baby, Princess Oluchi, daughter of one Mrs Blessing Okon. Ayorinde told the court that the defendant committed the offences with others still at large on Nov. 5 at No. 5 Kayode St., Ajangbadi in Lagos. An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court, on Wednesday, remanded a 43-year-old man, Amarachi Chukwuneke, in Kirikiri Correctional Centre, for allegedly defiling his six-year-old daughter. The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Olufunke Sule-Amzat, said that Chukwuneke should be remanded in the correctional centre pending advice from the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). NAN reports that Sule-Amzat also directed that the case file should be sent to the DPP for advice. Chukwuneke, who resides in Amuwo Odofin Estate, Festac area of Lagos, is being tried for his daughter’s defilement. As many as seventeen men and women have mysteriously lost their private parts in a community in Benue. According to a report by Daily Trust, women in Agasha community of Guma local government area in Benue State on Wednesday protested over alleged missing genital organs of at least 17 people in the vicinity. It was gathered from the villagers that some persons including male and female in the community have unexplainably lost their genitals within a space of one month. A villager in the area alleged that the private parts of the complainants were missing following the activities of some suspected ritualists within the community, saying that after a Parish Priest of St. Michael’s Catholic Parish in Agasha prayed for them, the organs were restored. An Ibadan-based truck driver, Azeez Hakeem, on Tuesday, told an Ile-Tuntun Customary Court in Ibadan that his wife, Mufuli, was fond of sleeping with their landlord, NAN reports. The Police have recovered 23 ATM cards from a middle-aged woman suspected to have stolen them from clients in Tanzania. ZimEye reports that Halima Juma was arrested at CRDB bank ATM in Mbagala after a teller at the financial institution suspected she was up to something fishy. The suspect was arrested in possession of 23 stolen ATM cards. The teller claimed he grew suspicious when Halima used different cards of the same bank to withdraw money from one ATM machine. After being busted, the suspect tried to escape, but was cornered by the bank’s security guards, who handed her over to police. Upon search at the police station, ATM cards belonging to nine different backs were retrieved from her private parts. The police disclosed that there were several cases she had been reported to have gone into ATM rooms pretending to help the elderly to withdraw their money from the machines. The Kogi State Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, has declared Friday, November 29, as a public holiday for all schools in the Western Senatorial district and Ajaokuta Federal Constituency of the state. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had scheduled a supplementary poll for Kogi West inconclusive rerun senatorial election, and a rerun of House of Representative poll of Ajaokuta federal constituency, to hold on Saturday, November 30. A statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr. Eric Aina, in Lokoja, directed all public and private schools in the affected areas to proceed on holiday on Friday, Nov. 29. A Federal High Court in Lagos, on Tuesday adjourned the trial of a former Minister of State for Finance, Nenandi Usman and others, until Dec. 2nd. NAN reports that Usman is standing trial alongside a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, Yusuf Danjuma, a former Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), and a Company, Jointrust Dimension Ltd over alleged N4.6 billion Money laundering charges. The defendants were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on 17-counts. They had each pleaded not guilty to the charges and were granted bail respectively. EFCC has since opened the case for the prosecution and is still leading witnesses in evidence. A 31-year-old man, Obinna Okafor, on Tuesday appeared before an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly stealing a Toyota Sienna Saloon bus worth N2.3 million. Okafor, who resides at Ikeja area of Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty. A 42-year-old woman, Temitope Akinola, has told the Police why she killed her 2-day old grand daughter with the poisonous insecticide known as Sniper. The suspect, Temitope, was arrested by operatives of Ogun State Police Command for allegedly killing her 2-day-old grand daughter. She said that she never liked her son in-law and when her daughter became pregnant for him, she had wanted to terminate the pregnancy but was prevented from doing so by her pastor. A cemetery worker has confessed that he sells human skulls for about N6,000 in Lagos state. According to a report by NewTelegraph, a 30-year-old cemetery worker, Kazeem Olarenwaju, has confessed that he sells human skulls for N6000 each. Olarenwaju and his cronies, Muritala Salami, (43) and Amidu Kazeem (32), were arrested at the Oke-Sunnah, area of Lagos Island by policemen from Adeniji Adele Police Station. Recovered from the suspects were water used in bathing corpses and clothes used in shrouding corpses before they were buried. Salami and Kazeem, herb sellers, confessed that they use human skulls to prepare ritual, which make businesses to boom, yielding incredible profits.
