Mesut Ozil: Arsenal Midfielder Says Healthy Children's Meals Should Be A Given, Not A Privilege

Mesut Ozil says healthy meals for children should be a given - not a privilege - as he leads the distribution of 1,400 meals to schools across north London every day this week, part of a wider scheme he launched in March.  The Arsenal midfielder teamed up with renowned German chef Stefan Pappert at the start of the pandemic to provide healthy meals to families living in poverty, homeless shelters and charities that support refugees. Ozil is among a number of footballers, including Manchester United's Marcus Rashford, leading the change on the issue of free meals for children during school holidays. Last week the government rejected a Labour bill to extend free school meals, prompting Ozil to scale up his project and provide 1,400 extra meals every day. Chef Stefan Pappert, project manager Parsa Sadigh and Mesut Ozil with the team from Unitas "This week, during the half-term, lots of kids are facing a tough situation with regards to food," he said in an exclusive intervie

'I Tried My Best' - Arsenal Boss Arteta Believes He Did All He Could To Include Axed Ozil

The 32-year-old did not feature for the Gunners after lockdown and was subsequently omitted from the club's 25-man Premier League squad. Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta believes he did all he could to give Mesut Ozil a fair shot before he axed the German from his squad.  Ozil's name was not among Arsenal's 25-man Premier League squad that was released earlier this month, which followed the playmaker's exclusion from Arsenal's Europa League squad. As the 32-year-old enters the final months of his contract with the Gunners, it now appears likely that he has played his final game for the team. Ozil did play a part for Arsenal last season, at one point starting 10 consecutive Premier League games for the Gunners before the coronavirus lockdown in March. The playmaker did not make a single appearance for Arsenal after lockdown, however, but Arteta has still insisted he gave Ozil every chance to impress before he was omitted from his team. "What I can tell you that I

Time is ticking down in this summer's transfer window as clubs rush to get deals over the line. Arsenal are no different and have until 11pm to finalise moves in and out at the Emirates Stadium as Mikel Arteta looks to further strengthen his squad after a strong start to the 2020/21 campaign. So far, the Gunners have re-signed Dani Ceballos on a season-long loan deal from Real Madrid, with the Spaniard joining Willian, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Alex Runarsson as the four summer arrivals. But another midfielder is on the agenda, with Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey understood to be a key target, whilst Lyon's Houssem Aouar has also been linked with a move to north London. There could also be some exits too as players look for fresh starts elsewhere. With that said, here is a round-up of some of the latest Arsenal transfer rumours doing the rounds. Lyon U-turn Arsenal may have been handed fresh hope of signing Houssem Aouar from Lyon. But after an initial bid was rejected, Lyo
