Reps Clear Air On Investigating Osinbajo over School Feeding Programme

The House of Representatives has declared that it is not investigating the office of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo over procurements made regarding the federal government’s school feeding programme. Chairman of the House Committee, Hon. Wole Oke made the clarification in response to insinuations in certain quarters that Osinbajo’s office was being probed. Addressing the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Olusola Idowu, Oke said the committee’s interest was in the Ministry and not Osinbajo’s office. Oke said the probe was to get comprehensive documentary evidence of the procurement carried out by the Ministry. He said: “By our records, the office of the Vice President is responsible for policy formulation and monitoring of the National Social Investment Programme. “Our investigation has nothing to do with the office of the Vice President but the Ministry. “Our interest now is on the Home School Feeding programme and that is why ...

German Midfielder Mesut Ozil Opens Up And Officially Tells Arsenal Fans Where He Will Be This Summer

Mesut Ozil insists he will see out his contract at Arsenal and will not be seeking to move on this summer. The 31-year-old’s current deal runs until next summer, but he has been frozen out by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and that has led to speculation in the media that the club will look to sell him on over the next few months. However, despite the fact that he will not get much game time next season, he is happy collecting that massive wage he is getting at Arsenal and has told the fans that he is seeking to see out his contract at the club. He told The Athletic: “My position is clear. I’m here through to the last day of our agreement and I’ll give everything I have for this club. “Situations like these will never break me, they only make me stronger. I showed in the past that I can come back into the team and I will show it again.” Arteta previously revealed he would only pick players who were ‘on the boat’. He added: “I can’t talk about my private conversations with the coach. “B...

Arsenal Fans Notice What Philippe Coutinho Has Done On Social Media Amid Continued Transfer Talk

Arsenal fans have been quick to notice Philippe Coutinho's latest social media activity amid ongoing transfer talk. The Brazilian midfielder has been heavily tipped for a return to England after his disappointing spell at Barcelona. And according to Sky in Italy journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Catalan giants have offered Coutinho to Arsenal on loan next season. As a result, Gunners supporters have been keeping an eye on the Brazilian's social media in recent weeks, given he has been linked with a move to north London. And it seems more than a few fans have picked up on the fact that Coutinho has recently started following the likes of Cedric Soares, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Gabriel Martinelli on Instagram. Coutinho's agent Kia Joorabchian previously admitted his client would like to focus on the remainder of the Champions League campaign before thinking about a move. The midfielder is still on loan at Bayern Munich, with the German club securing their place in the quar...

Arsenal To Offered Roma Midfielder In Lucas Torreira Swap Deal

Arsenal are considering letting Lucas Torreira leave for Roma in a swap deal which would see midfielder Amadou Diawara arrive at the Emirates, according to a report from Italy. Despite impressing since joining the Gunners from Sampdoria in 2018, Torreira struggled to regain his place in Mikel Arteta's starting lineups after suffering an ankle injury in March. The Uruguay midfielder managed just two starts after the restart in June and admitted earlier this month if he leaves Arsenal "it will be for the best". And Torreira may follow Henrikh Mkhitaryan - who spent last season on loan at Stadio Olimpico - to Roma in a swap deal for Diawara. The Italian giants were recently bought by US billionaire Dan Friedkin for £532million and the club consider themselves to have "great relations" with Arsenal, according to La Gazetta dello Sport . Torreira is reportedly set on playing an important starting role at the club he is with and has also been linked with a move to AC ...

Arsenal Have Finally Found Their Perfect Emirates Era Captain After Raul Sanllehi Decision

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leads Arsenal out for the FA Cup final vs Chelsea as club captain. Appointed club captain on November 5, throughout the remainder of the 2019/20 season, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang did tremendously well to restore the weight that comes with wearing the armband for Arsenal, which was lost during the 2010s. Skipper for 14 years straight, Tony Adams set the tone for what is to be expected of a captain at Arsenal. Under George Graham, Bruce Rioch and Arsene Wenger, he never strayed from the more blatant responsibilities of organizing his team on a match-day, while continuing to lay down the foundations off the pitch to ensure the high standards demanded by the club, it's players and staff never dropped. Although he held the armband until 2002, this bred a dressing room full of captains so that when Patrick Vieira took over that summer and Thierry Henry in the summer of 2005, the culture built in the 1980s and 90s remained, and the transitions to already-respecte...

John Terry took to social media to wish Willian luck, with the winger on the verge of joining Arsenal. The Brazilian wrote an open letter to Chelsea supporters on Sunday to announce that his seven-year stay at Stamford Bridge was at an end. On his Instagram account, Willian posted: "I am really grateful to the Chelsea fans for the affectionate way they welcomed me at Stamford Bridge and their support throughout my time at the club. "The time has now come to move on. I am certainly going to miss my teammates. "I will miss all the staff at the club who’ve always treated me like a son and I will miss the fans I leave with my head held high, safe in the knowledge that I won things here and always did my best in a Chelsea ...

Mikel Arteta Makes Special Transfer Request As Willian Undergoes Arsenal Medical

Mikel Arteta reportedly made a special request to the Arsenal board to sign Willian. And it seems the Gunners manager got his wish, as the Brazilian has reportedly undergone his medical in north London, after confirming on Sunday he is leaving Chelsea. Arteta is keen to strengthen his Arsenal side this summer but must do so with limited funds. The club have been linked with such stars as Philippe Coutinho, Thomas Partey and Willian in recent months, with the latter the priority. According to The Telegraph, Arteta made a special request to the Arsenal board, and asked them to 'specifically' sign Willian, despite his age. The Spaniard is said to be a big fan of the 32-year-old, and strongly believes that he will improve his Arsenal team next season. The Evening Standard has reported this Monday that Willian has now completed his medical at Arsenal, and will soon pen a three year deal worth £150,000-a-week. Willian said goodbye to Chelsea after seven years in a statement on Sunda...
