John Terry Sends Instagram Message To Willian Ahead Of Arsenal Unveiling


John Terry took to social media to wish Willian luck, with the winger on the verge of joining Arsenal.

The Brazilian wrote an open letter to Chelsea supporters on Sunday to announce that his seven-year stay at Stamford Bridge was at an end.

On his Instagram account, Willian posted: "I am really grateful to the Chelsea fans for the affectionate way they welcomed me at Stamford Bridge and their support throughout my time at the club.

"There was also criticism, which is normal, what is important though is that both the affection and criticism drove me to always give my all in every training session, every game, to be constantly improving until my very last minute in a Chelsea shirt!

"The time has now come to move on. I am certainly going to miss my teammates.

"I will miss all the staff at the club who’ve always treated me like a son and I will miss the fans

I leave with my head held high, safe in the knowledge that I won things here and always did my best in a Chelsea shirt

"My heartfelt thanks go out to all of you and God bless you! Willian Borges da Silva."

football.london understands Arsenal are increasingly confident of making the winger their first signing of the summer, after making an offer of a three-year deal.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is understood to be an admirer of Willian's talents and believes that the veteran playmaker can prove to be an experienced addition to an attack that includes youngsters such as Reiss Nelson, Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah.

And ahead of the Brazilian's next move, former Chelsea captain Terry wished his ex-teammate well - along with several current Blues players.

Terry, now an assistant coach at Aston Villa, posted a picture of Willian on his Instagram story with the caption: "Good luck @willianborges88.

"Absolute LEGEND. Great player and man. Gonna miss you geez."

The pair played together in west London for four seasons, winning two Premier League titles and one League Cup whilst they were both at the club.

Mikel Arteta Makes Special Transfer Request As Willian Undergoes Arsenal Medical

 Mikel Arteta reportedly made a special request to the Arsenal board to sign Willian. And it seems the Gunners manager got his wish, as the Brazilian has reportedly undergone his medical in north London, after confirming on Sunday he is leaving Chelsea.
