Arsenal Morning Headlines As Thomas Partey 'Wants' Move And Matteo Guendouzi Interest Expressed

The Atletico Madrid midfielder’s name continues to dominate the gossip columns when it comes to Arsenal, who have prioritised adding Brazilian duo Willian and Gabriel Magalhães so far.

The latest on Thomas Partey, from Goal (via Sports Mole), is that the player himself is keen on leaving the Spanish capital for Arsenal this summer.

However, Arsenal need to balance the books and may need to sell in order to bring in any more players.

It had previously been reported that Ainsley Maitland-Niles was close to an Emirates exit, but the academy graduate now looks set to stay as Mikel Arteta’s first-choice right wing-back, while Hector Bellerin has received interest from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Everything you need to know about Arsenal’s friendly against QPR
Arsenal have started their 2020/21 preparations on a positive note, beating Liverpool on penalties in the Community Shield at Wembley to claim their second piece of silverware under Arteta.

Their pre-season plans continued with a behind-closed-doors friendly against Queens Park Rangers at the Gunners’ training ground. It was a 4-3 victory for Arsenal, who responded to an opener from opposition defender Ossie Kakay with three goals of their own.

But Bright Osayi-Samuel and Todd Kane levelled things up for the visitors, before Arsenal notched a late winner.

It’s not been confirmed who featured or scored for Arsenal, but it’s thought to have been a mix of first-team and Under-23s players.

Here’s everything we know from the friendly.

Valencia express interest in Matteo Guendouzi - report
Mirror Football report that Valencia are interested in taking Matteo Guendouzi on loan for the upcoming season.

The La Liga side have gone through a major rebuilding job this summer, having missed out on Champions League qualification.

They’ve allowed several key players to depart, including striker Rodrigo Moreno to newly-promoted Leeds United and former Arsenal man Francis Coquelin to Unai Emery’s Villarreal.

However, the report goes on to state that Arsenal only want to sell the 21-year-old midfielder on a permanent basis as they look to recoup funds for the transfer market.

Meanwhile, it is understood Aubameyang will ‘imminently’ sign a new three-year contract at the Emirates. It is understood he will become the club’s highest earner on his new deal, surpassing Mesut Ozil’s reported £350,000-a-week wages. The report adds Arteta has been integral in talks to keep the 31-year-old striker in north London. Former Arsenal head of football Raul Sanllehi is believed to ha...

'I Cried A Lot' - Arsenal Star Martinelli Opens Up On Knee Injury That 'Broke' Him

The 19-year-old attacker has said that manager Mikel Arteta was a great support as he was returning to fitness. Arsenal attacker Gabriel Martinelli has admitted that the horror knee injury he suffered in June caused him a huge amount of pain both physically and emotionally. The young wide player sustained the issue during training, and though it did not feel like anything at first, it required surgery. After missing several months with the injury, Martinelli is now only finding his way back into competitive football. I was about to receive the ball and felt a little pain on my knee,” he told the Daily Mail. "Not enough for me to stop practising, but, while we were on the finishing session, I told them that I was in pain. They told me to rest and, if I felt the pain the next day, to let them know. “When I woke up, I felt it but I was able to walk. I thought it was nothing at first, but it was a pain I'd never felt before. I went to the club for the examinations and they said i...
