Real Madrid President, Perez Names Player That Should Win Ballon D’Or Award


Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, has identified striker, Karim Benzema, as the player to win this year’s Ballon D’Or.

Perez believes Benzema deserves the top individual prize because the France international has been impressive so far this season.

Benzema has scored 21 La Liga goals for Real Madrid this season.

The 32-year-old scored a brace as Real Madrid defeated Villarreal 2-1 on Thursday night to win the La Liga title ahead of Barcelona and Perez insisted that he has never seen any player as good as Benzema this season.

“Benzema should win the Ballon d’Or,” Perez told El Transistor when asked who should win the 2020 Ballon D’ Or.

“I have not seen any player have as good a year as him.”

Meanwhile, Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi, took home the Ballon d’Or in 2019, edging Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk and Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo.

 Mikel Arteta reportedly made a special request to the Arsenal board to sign Willian.
