Nigerian Law School Student Dies While Jogging In Enugu State

A Nigerian Law School student identified as, Mr. Chiemerie Dim, has died while jogging in Enugu state, leading to hundreds of tributes from colleagues on social media.

According to reports, Mr. Chiemerie Dim graduated in the year 2019 from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka and a bona fide member of the Law Students Association.

The award-winning student had a forte in Tax Law (one of the most complex fields of law) and had made numerous contributions in articles and legal pages on Contemporary issues in Tax Law.

Taking to social media to mourn his demise, his friends revealed that the fitness builder died while jogging, with cardiac arrest being confirmed as the cause of his death.

Michael Ugochukwu wrote on Facebook:

We pray for the peaceful repose of the soul of our beloved brother who had cardiac arrest and left the mother earth yesterday while jugging in d morning.
He is Chiemerie Dim a fresh Graduate of the blessed faculty of law unizik, currently in law school Enugu , a devoted guru in taxation law.
We pray that the Good lord console his family, friends, loved ones, classmates and the faculty at large.
We also decree and declare that no untimely death shall come to any one of us again in the name of Jesus Christ
We also pray that his short life will bring to our consciousness that the end is near.
May the soul of Dim Chiemerie and that of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in perfect peace.

Senate Tells Buhari - Sack NDDC IMC Now

President Muhammadu Buhari has been asked to sack the Professor Kemebradikumo Pondei-led Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) by the Nigerian senate. The lawmakers hinged their call for the sack of NDDC’s IMC on financial recklessness and also recommended that the agency should be returned to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) for proper supervision. The senate which adopted the recommendations of its “Ad hoc Committee on the investigation of the alleged financial recklessness in the NDDC”, also ordered the current IMC to refund the N4.923billion it paid to staff and contractors in breach of the procurement process and approvals.
