President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday arrived Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
The president arrived Maiduguri from Addis Ababa after the signing of visa waiver agreement for diplomatic and official passport holders by Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama and Gedu Andargachew, respectively.
Buhari’s visit was disclosed by his Spokesman, Garba Shehu on his official Twitter page.
His visit follows the killing of 30 persons in the recent attacks by Boko Haram insurgents at Auno village in Konduga, Borno State.
NAIJALOADED reported that the terrorists stormed the area at about 9:50 pm on Sunday destroying about 18 vehicles.
There were reports that some passengers were abducted during the attack, aside the 30 people that were killed.
Shehu wrote:
“President Buhari, aboard the BBJ from Addis Ababa just landed in Maiduguri.
He is paying a sympathy visit to the government and people of Borno following the recent horrific incident in which BH terrorists killed several travellers.
