  Arsenal have completed the signing of Dijon goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson. The Icelandic international has joined the Gunners in a transfer understood to be worth around £1million. He has signed a four year contract with the club and will wear the No.13 shirt. Emiliano Martinez's £20million move to Aston Villa left Arsenal in need of an understudy to Bernd Leno, a role that Runarsson could be asked to fulfill. There is however a possibility that the 25-year-old will find himself as Mikel Arteta's third choice goalkeeper with the Gunners still keen to sign David Raya. However with Brentford insistent that they want to keep Raya and under no financial pressure to sell the goalkeeper, who would like to join Arsenal, it is possible that Runarsson may be the Gunners' back-up option between the posts.   Runar Alex Runarsson has deleted old social media posts criticising Arsene Wenger ahead of a potential move to Arsenal. The Icelandic goalkeeper has reportedly undergone a medical ahead of a switch to the Emirates from Dijon, where he is expected to provide competition for No.1 Bernd Leno, with Emiliano Martinez seemingly set for a £20m move to Aston Villa. However, some Gunners supporters were less than impressed when they discovered old tweets from Runarsson's account abusing their legendary former manager Wenger. The Frenchman won three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups during his 22 year spell at the club, but split opinion towards the end of his reign after a number of less successful campaigns.  Arsenal have confirmed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, club captain and talismanic striker, has signed a new contract that will keep him at the Emirates until July 2023. The new deal, believed to be worth around £300,000 per week, represents a huge win for Mikel Arteta who has repeatedly said that he wants to build his team around the 31-year-old. Since signing from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018, Aubameyang has scored 72 goals for the Gunners in 111 appearances, including a match-winning brace in the recent FA Cup final against Chelsea. If he continues in the same vein for the next three seasons, there’s even a decent chance he could move into the club’s top five record goalscorers. Gabriel Magalhaes and Willian both had an Arsenal debut to remember as the Gunners welcomed Fulham to the Premier League with a 3-0 thumping. The two debutants showed why the club went to such lengths to sign them by starring on the opening day of the new season. Not only did Gabriel add instant assurance at the back, the £27million defender also scored his first Gunners goal. Willian created it, along with both of his side’s other goals, which were scored by more familiar marksmen Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Lacazette opened the scoring, becoming the first man to net the first goal in separate Premier League campaigns, after Willian poked the ball against Fulham goalkeeper Marek Rodak.   ARSENAL threw down an early gauntlet to the top four contenders as they kicked off the new Premier League season in style. Six weeks after lifting the FA Cup at Wembley, Mikel Arteta’s team were straight back into the groove with an emphatic win at newly-promoted Fulham. It took them just nine minutes of the new campaign to prove they meant business when Alexandre Lacazette fired them ahead. Granit Xhaka’s shot was blocked and Willian’s follow-up was saved by Marek Rodak but the Fulham keeper was powerless to prevent Lacazette from forcing the loose ball home from close range. Arsenal kicked off the new Premier League season in style.  The Gunners smashed London rivals Fulham 3-0 at Craven Cottage and new signing Willian was the star of the show.  He provided a hat-trick of assists inside 60 minutes.  The first set-up Alexandre Lacazette's 8th-minute tap-in, while his second was the cross that fellow debutant Gabriel headed in shortly after half-time. Willian's third assist was the pick of the bunch.  The Brazilian curled a beautiful ball into the path of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and the striker took three touches before curling a beauty past Marek Rodak. The Gunners colleagues had a heated exchange during the warm-up at Craven Cottage ahead of the first game of the new season. Eddie Nketiah and Dani Ceballos had to be separated by team-mates following an angry exchange before Arsenal’s Premier League opener at Fulham. The players, who were both named amongst the substitutes at Craven Cottage, were taking part in the pre-match warm-up when the flare-up happened at Craven Cottage. It took place during a short passing drill and the flash point came when Ceballos - who has just returned to Arsenal on a season-long loan from Real Madrid - caught Nketiah with a late challenge as he tried to claim a loose ball. The young Gunners striker clearly said something to his Spanish team-mate, who responded by angrily shoving Nketiah away before shouting at him as he prepared to restart the training drill.
