  Top Nigerian sprinter Divine Oduduru has been disqualified from taking part in the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Doha, after pulling out of Friday’s 100m event. Oduduru ran foul of one of the competition rules which resulted in a stiff punishment from the world athletics body, IAAF. Oduduru had pulled out of the 100m event on Friday to focus on the 200m but the decision has ruled him out of the event and he will not also be part of the team’s relays, according to the IAAF rule. Oduduru was initially entered for three events in the Men 100m, 200m and 4x100m relays. However, on the eve of his participation, the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN tweeted that he had opted to ‘concentrate’ on the 200m and pulled out of the 100m which he had been registered for. Allowing him to have his way was a gaffe on the part of the AFN as the competition rules does not allow such last-minute withdrawals. President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, appointed Prof Muhammed Tawfiq Ladan as the Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS). Prof. Ladan will be taking over from Prof. Deji Adekunle. This was contained in a letter from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha. The letter reads, I am pleased to inform you that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved your appointment as Director-General Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies for an initial term of four years. President Muhammadu Buhari has said as part of plans to enhance Nigeria’s carbon sink, the federal government will mobilize its youths to plant 25 million trees across the country. A man has been declared wanted by authorities after he allegedly filed for a divorce from his wife without her knowing.  51-year-old Paul Nixon was said to have quietly separated from his wife using forged documents behind her back Nixon's wife told investigators on May 14 the man "filed for divorce and completed the entire proceedings without her knowledge or consent and that the court had already completed all hearings and filed the final divorce decree."
